Based on an old study, there are Species at Risk just to the south of the Meredith Lot.  This study should be updated prior to development.

Take a virtual tour through the 6 diverse sectors below:

In order to describe this property in our analysis paper, we have divided the Meredith lot into six ecologically distinct sectors. The six sectors are different from the "three distinct zones" in the proposal by the Municipality.

The Meredith lot is 74-acre lot 3 030 091 and is currently zoned Récréotouristique (REC). If this zoning is changed as proposed, it could result in the division of the lot into three distinct zones: one for residential housing (Rural Consolidation or RUR-C), one for conservation, and one would remain Recreotoristique for the establishment of a public dock on the Gatineau River. The municipal proposed zoning changes do not have yet to our knowledge defined size boundaries or a specific geographic layout that FMF is aware of.

Scroll through all the photos in this gallery to see what stands to be lost if the proposal goes ahead. Based on our analysis, housing development is most likely to be in Sector 1, the intact forest.
